Impact of using an axial magnetic field of 1.5T in carbon ion therapy for the diagnosis of head cancers

To improve the irradiation accuracy in hadrontherapy, a lot of studies are evaluation uncluding how to integrate MRI and PET at treatement cancer patients. These two future techniques will offer simultaneously monitoring beam during irradiation. In this study for first time, we calculated dose distribution voxel head several carbon ion energies B=1.5T using fluka MC code. Afterwards, either longitudinal or radial deflection was simulated with without B. The maximum deviation bragg pick depth 0.672 mm 200 MeV almost 4.23 cm 100 MeV. Both them presence B=1.5T. Our results good agreement previous experimental (a relative error founded 2.08%). deposition magnetic field therapy.
